How to restrict an email account?

You may want to restrict an email account for certain reasons. For example, an employee has left your company or you need to restrict an email temporarily without deleting it.

Login to cPanel, either directly or from My NodeSpace. Locate the Email section and click on Email Accounts.

Find the email account you want to restrict and click on the restrictions link.

From here, you can select the restrictions you would like.

If you restrict receiving incoming mail, the sender will receive a bounce message.

If you suspend outgoing mail, the user will receive a failure message. If you select hold, the messages will instead be kept in the server's outgoing mail queue. If you select allow after placing a hold, the messages will be released.

Suspending login will deny logging in from anywhere that email is configured. Please keep in mind that this may trigger IP address blocking on the server.
