What is netboot.xyz?

Netboot.xyz is a PXE boot server configuration that hosts bootloaders for multiple operating systems and diagnostic utilities. It allows a networked computer, with PXE boot enabled, to connect to the netboot.xyz service and download the necessary resources to boot a selected operating system or tool. This service is extremely useful in environments where multiple systems are managed, or a variety of operating systems need to be installed, tested, or debugged.

For NodeSpace customers, this means you can test or install a larger range of operating systems on your servers. We may not have the latest and greatest versions, or even a particular operating system, readily available for install. By utilizing netboot.xyz, you can install almost any operating system.

Netboot.xyz also provides additional helpful utilities that may aid in system recovery in the event of a crashed system.

Important: NodeSpace Technical Support may not support the operating system that you install on your server. If you have managed services for your sever, please consult technical support before installing a new operating system.
