How to manage your dedicated or virtual server

Attention: This is a new feature for dedicated server clients and is starting to become available for virtual server clients. Some features and functionality are not yet implemented for all server hardware models and configurations and some features may not be available in all pods.

You can manage your dedicated server by logging into https://my.nodespace.com and selecting your dedicated server from your services.

New: This feature was just released on December 5, 2022 and is enabled on all accounts that have had our new dedicated control panel rolled out. This will let you view and control most parts of your dedicated server from the My NodeSpace Client Portal.

A. This will let you quickly control the power of your server.

B. These quick actions will let you open your IPMI console, reset the BMC, and directly login to the Server Management Panel. Please note that virtual servers have a server console, but BMC reset options are not available on virtual servers.

C. Your bandwidth graphs (if enabled).

Note: We are leaving this section as part of our documentation for now as it may occasionally show backup when we perform maintenance or other options.

When you are on the product details page, switch to the Server Information tab and click on the "Login to panel" button which will automatically log you into your dedicated server management panel at https://manage.nodespace.com

When the panel opens, you'll be directed to the server you selected. Here is a quick overview of all the features:

A. This will take you to the overview of all your active servers.

B. This is the power status indicator for this server. Green = Powered on. Yellow = Server is probably powered on, but our system can't tell. Red = Offline.

C. This shows you a brief overview of what hardware your server has, including total storage, and bandwidth usage as of today.

D. This button will launch an IPMI console.

E. This will let you quickly send the command to power on, power off, or reboot your server.

F. On the IP Address Overview page, you can click on "None" to quickly add a description for that IP address, such as what it's being used for.

Statistics Tab

A. Public Bandwidth graph

B. Private Bandwidth graph

C. Graph controls - zoom in, out, browse, and download graph data

D. IPMI Sensor graph data - This will show data about some of the sensors available on your hardware such as temperature and fans. Toggling Show Details will show all data points from all sensors of that type. For example, if the system has a CPU fan and 5 case fans, the fan sensors will show data from all individual sensors. Otherwise the graph will show an overall average of all sensor data.

Inventory Data

Note: This feature is experimental and may be removed in the future.

A. This table will list all hardware currently assigned to the server. This is part of transparency so you can verify your server is exactly how you ordered it. You can also use this to communicate with us about any hardware that may be failing. For instance, if you notice a drive is failing you can provide the serial number to support and we can quickly replace the drive.

Configuration

This tab will show you some basic configuration information about your server.

Notes

This tab lets you add notes about your server. It's not recommended to store passwords or any other sensitive data here.
